The sharp pointed 3mm #1 broach easily starts the hole in the sclerotic base of the metacarpal. Successive reaming of the starter hole with 4.5mm #2 broach, then the tapered 6mm #3, allows for precise sizing of the hole for your exact needs. The hole can be reamed up to 8mm if necessary with the tapered #4 broach.
